Children Classes

After School and evening classes for both boys and girls ages 8 and up (unless indicated)

Sewing classes will teach children the basic seaming process, multiple seams, sewing machine functions, pinning, button and zippers, designing and pattern use. Skills will be reinforced each session in a fun way. Extra skills will be introduced for those that have taken Sew Fun! classes before

For those students that want to customize their own advanced class with a project, we can set it up either through private or group lessons.

As always: included are sewing puzzles, games and extra matching accessories during any classes.

No sewing experience necessary (unless indicated). Learn the lost art of sewing at Sew Fun! Parties with the best teachers around. In order to hold your child’s spot, pre-payment is required. Cost of the class does not include materials because everyone has their own designing taste. Most projects can have your child’s name embroidered for an additional $5. Mini Quilt/Wall Hanging Dates/Times: Six sessions starting Wednesdays, April 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15. 4:30-5:45 Cost: $95 Piece together a mini quilt for the foot of your bed. This will really dress up your room. You can even incorporate your favorite old T-shirt as a patch to make it more memorable. Material list will be given on the first day.	Towel Wrap Dates/Times: Six sessions starting Tuesdays, April 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28 4:30-5:45 Cost: $85 Warm weather is around the corner! Lounge by the pool in your terry towel wrap adorned with ribbons and buttons. Learn sewing basic seaming and button application. Materials List: click to download	Your Own Comfy Fleece Robe and matching slippers Dates/Times: Seven sessions starting Monday, April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, June 3. 4:30-5:45 Cost: $115 Materials List: click to download Learn sewing basics while making a comfy robe with tie and coordinating trimming. Wear it around the house or just lounging around. This project is always a popular choice. Last session will culminate with a Sew Fun! fashion show. Material list will be given the first day of class.
Your Own Pajama Set Dates/Times: Seven sessions starting Thursday March 28, April 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16. 4:30-5:45 Cost: $115. Make a custom set of PJs to wear at night or even to show it off at Pajama Day at school.	Pattern Reading a new SEW FUN class Dates/Times: Five sessions starting Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. 6:30-8:00 Cost: $95 ages 10+ Pattern Reading is here! Come learn how to read sewing patterns! This session will go through the entire pattern process from how to size the pattern in the store and tell difficulty level, choosing the best type of fabric and how much to purchase, to understanding pattern terminology and instructions to make your garment start to finish. We will look at several different types of patterns and levels of difficulty and everyone will make their own item start to finish with a pattern to take home. Materials list will be provided on the first day of class.
